HOW RARE IS RARE?

Suchiu’s sketches are always quite rare for one simple reason; he does not do a formal preliminary sketch before every painting. In fact he may only do a sketch for one out of ten or more paintings.

Then even after there is a sketch produced it is like pulling teeth to get him to release it as a limited edition print.

LIFE AS A JEWEL

When, Suchiu Art, collectible value becomes a factor this piece, The Sheeny Man sketch has become the icon of rare prints.

In celebration of the pride he held for his small but great team of employees Ronald Suchiu came up with a very pleasant surprise for his staff for their Christmas 1994 gift.

He had a tiny private edition series of only ten prints produced from the “The Sheeny Man” sketch.

He then proceeded to do a gentle hint of watercolor by hand on them and had his master framer finish off the package with a beautiful little museum quality frame for each. Every one of these pieces is identical except for the numbers that run 1/10 through 10/10 inclusive.

Although the print image is only approximately 9 1/2 inches square and its overall frame size is about 20 by 20 inches, rumor has it that, one of these pieces has been sold for $5000.00.

We know of only one other “Sheeny Sketch” that might be available but the owner hasn’t given us a price to date.

Watch out for this one, grab it when you can, it seems to have a life as a jewel.
